Restful weekend
It is Sunday morning here, and we are finishing up our weekend of rest. We have been staying at the JW Marriott in Guangzhou to use up some of our Marriott points and are going to the Hilton this afternoon to be with the other families from our agency who are arriving today.
The weekend highlight has been the ever- popular breakfast buffet. For whatever reason, it is very common to have breakfast buffet included in your stay at all the hotels in China, and when you are trying to appease kids for 3 meals a day while traveling, a huge breakfast buffet is like a dream. There is tons of Chinese and American options- today Ben had a fried egg, pancakes, a waffle, watermelon, 2 yogurts and a steam bun. :) I thought he might explode.
There is a beautiful pool here too, and the boys swam with Tom for 2 hours yesterday and are going to swim this morning too. It is very pretty right where we are, next door to a convention center with some outdoor paths to walk around. Needless to say, our kids are typically the only ones we see in the hotel. :)
Another hard thing for the kids has been sticking close y us and holding our hands all the time. It is hard to explain to them that yes, the cars and scooters will RUN YOU DOWN if you don't get out of their way.
It is hard to believe that tomorrow is the big day, somehow keeping two kids occupied and moving on the trip has kept my mind way distracted, but in about 24 hours- EEK!! we will meet Yun Ying!!!
