Family of Five!!!

Yesterday we went with the 4 other families to Henan Center for Children's Welfare and Adoption at 9:00am.  Our guide said that some children may already be there.  In my mind, I thought it was probable Yun Ying was one of them, as she was from the city we were in.  I set my phone to the video screen as we all walked in, and there in the back of the room was a little girl in red with a whale spot pony tail- I knew it was our girl!! She was not happy to see me, and I quickly called to Tom to get the puffs out of the bag - Tom was NOT expecting her to be there and he was completely confused for a minute :) She started to cry as I held her, until the puffs came out.  The puffs saved us.  For about half an hour, she just sat in my lap with her arm glued in the puffs container.  The officer that brought her (man in blue in photo) to us showed us a photo album they sent with her and told me a few things about her.  We were able to do a quick FaceTime with my family and Tom's sister.  She was stoic most of the time, until we were alone and I somehow was able to make her smile with a little tickle.

We were there for about 2.5 hours, as some children came from very far and were late.  Once we got back to the hotel and in our room, Yun Ying climbed off my lap to play blocks with the boys, and it was not long before she was walking around like she owned the place, laughing with the boys and letting them chase her.  I was able to feed her lunch (congee) and dinner (rice, watermelon, noodles) but she definitely eats like a bird.

Today we had a busy day, starting with breakfast buffet, then to finalize our adoption at the same place we finalized the boys' adoption.  Then back to the hotel and back out shopping, as the boys had been promised a toy. Then lunch and back in the coach bus to apply for her passport and then to the notary office for more paperwork.  Our little girl is NOT happy to leave the hotel room for any reason and has been stoic and fussy throughout, but once in the room she lights up. She is silly and funny and loves her brother.  She is literally glued to me, and as a special birthday treat, she let her daddy hold her today :)  Thank you all our family and friends who have prayed of us and helped celebrate her arrival with us, we cannot wait for everyone to meet her!!!

I will post more pictures soon, they are on Tom's phone, and he out doing laundry and getting dumplings for dinner :) XOXO
